I work with people with diabetes to manage their diabetes in the context of their busy lives. At St. Michael's patients with complex diabetes requiring insulin are seen. I also have a private practice in mid-town Toronto where those with pre-diabetes and early stage diabetes can focus on improving blood sugar control and weight management.

Diabetes Related Activities:

University Health Network- Banting and Best Diabetes center supports patients with multiple complex disease processes that include post-transplant, dialysis, cancer, HIV, cardiovascular. We have an innovative insulin pump program. My role includes:

  • Leader, role model, and change agent in the advancement of intraprofessional practice
  • Co-chair of the quality and safety committee
  • Advances specialty nursing knowledge and practice
  • Clinical policy and procedure development and evaluation
  • Design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative care processes and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribution to education for nursing and health professions staff, students and the professional community
  • Enable professional development and advancement of professional nursing
  • Facilitation of academic and research processes
