Diabetes Related Activities:

As a front line Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department, I provide direct care to patients with diabetes related emergencies, manage patients with diabetes, as well as provide follow-up and referral to appropriate community and Mount Sinai Hospital Diabetes services. I have also developed protocols for the emergency department with regards to the initial and ongoing management of patients presenting with diabetes emergencies and have provided education to staff regarding such. I have also helped facilitate the education of physician staff in the emergency department regarding diabetes management and have helped maintain updated lists of medications and treatment/follow-up services for these patients.

I am very interested in diabetes and its effect on the micro and microvascular systems, as well as the sociocultural and ethnicity risk factors associated and correlated with diabetes, its prevalence and health consequences.
