Annual Scientific Day
30th Annual Scientific Day
Friday, May 10, 2019
The Old Mill
21 Old Mill Road
The Scientific Day provides an opportunity for our members to exchange scientific information and ideas, and to assist in the development of collaborative diabetes-related research activities. It also provides an opportunity for BBDC trainees to network and discuss their research. BBDC postdoctoral fellowship and graduate studentship recipients, as well as selected Annual Trainee Awards Competition abstract submitters will present posters of their work. Dr. Rexford Ahima (Editor, Journal of Clinical Investigation) as well as a BBDC member (TBD )will judge ten pre-selected posters for the Annual Trainee Awards competition. The prize winners will be announced and prizes will be presented to the recipients at the end of the Scientific Day.
The event will focus on the latest diabetes research topics with both clinical and laboratory applications. This year’s Charles Hollenberg Memorial Lectureship will be presented by Dr. Michael Schwartz, Professor, Division of Metabolism and Endocrinology at University of Washington. The program will also include Drs. Andrew Advani, Patricia Brubaker, Lisa Chu, Satya Dash and Jonathan Rocheleau.
