- Attendance is compulsory for the BBDC summer students.
- Three joint student/supervisor presentations will take place during each seminar. Each joint presentation by the student and supervisor should be 15 minutes long, followed by a 5 minute question and answer period. The summer student’s presentation outlines the project and indicates how their project fits into the overall goals of the lab.
- Summer students must attend all of the weekly in-person seminars and are required to give a presentation of their work at the Mini-Conference on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 12:40 – 5:00 pm. Failure to comply with the program’s requirements will result in future ineligibility of both the student and supervisor for BBDC funding programs.
- All seminars are in-person.

Mini-Conference

As part of the summer studentship program all students are required to give a presentation at the Mini-conference. Attendance by all students and their supervisors is required. Each summer student must submit a 1-page abstract for the Mini-conference program to the BBDC administrator, Sanam Tajadod at [email protected] by Wednesday, July 19, 2023. The complete Mini-conference schedule of presentations will be emailed to all students and supervisors one week before the conference.
Presentation Guidelines:
- Each student will be given 15 minutes. The presentation should be 10-12 minutes long leaving 2-3 minutes for questions and answers.
- Students should email a copy of their PowerPoint presentation to the BBDC administrator, Sanam Tajadod at [email protected] by Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
- Students will be asked to arrive 20 minutes (at 12:40 pm) before the start of the conference for the setup.
